Normally we use ridged gourd in fish curry or with poppy seeds but this olden day recipe is tasty and easy to make.

 Ingredients

 

Ridged gourd – 2


Mustard powder – 1 tsp


Turmeric powder – 1 tsp


Green chili – 2 silted


Coconut grated – 1 tbsp


Salt & sugar – as per taste


Oil – 1tbsp


Cumin seeds – ½ tsp

        Directions

 

  1. Peel the skin of the ridged gourd and cut them into small pieces.
  2. Heat oil in pan and add ridged gourd, cover thhe pan and fry it.
  3. Now add turmeric powder, salt, sugar, mustard powder (mixed with water), coconut, silted chilies and water.
  4. Cook until the water dries up and the vegetable is cooked.
  5. Serve it with rice.
